Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Suhaimi bin Abdul Rahman - Lebih 31 tahun merentas belantara muzik rock, nama Amy Search adalah satu predikat yang tidak perlu diperkenalkan lagi. Imej, vokal, attitude dan segala tentang lelaki dengan nama sebenar Suhaimi A. Rahman ini adalah satu fenomena.

Seperti mana teguhnya karya-karya yang dilantunkan vokalis ini, begitu juga namanya menjadi item penting industri hiburan tanah air.  Kini pada usia 54 tahun, Amy Search, empayarnya sudah meluas. Sudah menyelusup jauh ke dalam hati banyak pencintanya.

Pada mulanya, Suhaimi bin Abdul Rahman bekerja sebagai seorang seorang penala piano sebelum menyertai Kumpulan Search bagi menggantikan tempat Zainal sebagai penyanyi. Apabila Zainal meninggalkan Search, Amy menjadi penyanyi utama sebelum dia menarik diri dan meneruskan kerjayanya sebagai penyanyi solo. Beliau mendirikan rumahtangga yang pertama bersama Faridah, (1983-1985), dan bercerai kemudian berkahwin pula dengan Noorliza Abdul Latiff, (1990-1994). Sekali lagi rumahtangga Amy dilanda krisis dan berpisah lalu Amy mengahwini Roslisa Ahmad, sekali lagi Amy dilanda ujian dalam rumahtangganya membuatkan mereka berpisah lagi hinggalah berjumpa dengan Norish yang berasal dari Singapura kekal hingga kini. Hasil perkahwinan Amy beliau telah dikurniakan 4 orang cahaya mata semuanya iaitu (Nabila Huda (1984), Irisha Myra (1997), Alexander Zulkarnain (2004) dan Sania Samara.

Kumpulan Search juga tidak lari dari mengalami perpecahan. Paling tidak dapat diterima oleh peminat setia mereka ialah pengunduran Amy sekitar tahun 1996 dari Kumpulan Search membuatkan ramai peminat mereka kecewa kerana waktu itu Kumpulan Search sudah bertapak lebih 10 tahun dalam industri muzik tempatan dan di antara kumpulan rock paling lama bertahan di Malaysia. Amy mengambil keputusan untuk meninggalkan Kumpulan search lalu menerbitkan album solo yang keduanya iaitu Camouflage. Sebelum Amy keluar Search beliau juga pernah merakamkan album solo yang pertama yang di beri judul Magic.

Setelah beberapa tahun bergerak secara solo timbul pula hasrat Amy bersama Kumpulan Search untuk membuat penyatuan semula. Ekoran dari kejayaan Amy membuat penyatuan semula bersama Search maka ramai artis yang dulu berkumpulan membuat penyatuan semula bersama kumpulan asal mereka seperti Nash bersama Kumpulan Lefthanded, Saleem bersama Kumpulan Iklim Awie bersama Kumpulan Wings, Mustaffa Din / Mus bersama Kumpulan May, Joey bersama Kumpulan Bumiputra Rockers, Mael bersama Kumpulan XPDC dan ramai lagi.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born into a musical family, Jon started his training on the piano at the age of six, and then took up the French Horn two years later. Now, as a multi-instrumentalist, he plays mainly the Piano, French Horn and Trumpet. In 1993, when he was twelve, Jon won first prize in a piano competition where he performed in Manchester on stage alongside Richard Clayderman. In 1996 he was awarded the 'Excellence through Achievement - Jonathan Donaghy and Emma McManus Memorial Trust Prize'. One year later, he took first prize, the Haydn Trophy, at Macclesfield Music Festival, performing Frank Bridge's 'Rosemary' on the piano.

Jon has performed at a variety of venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Kuala Lumpur's Twin Towers and at the Vatican, Rome. He also had the privilege of performing with Anita Sarawak, M. Nasir in Malaysia and for the Queen in London during her Jubilee Tour.

He began composing and orchestrating in his early teens, and almost immediately discovered that this was the career path he wanted to pursue. Jon continued his studies in Cambridge (Anglia Ruskin University), where he was elected student president of the music department. Relocating to Kingston University, London, he gained a Master's degree (with commendation) in Composition for Film and Television.

On completing his studies, Jon set up his own recording studio, working as a freelance composer in the UK before taking up a full-time position at WASP Studios in Malaysia as an in-house composer/sound designer mainly composing and orchestrating for film, television, radio, TVC's, theatre, mobile devices and animation. Jon returned to the UK in 2011 and continues to work as a freelance composer at the same time as running a recording studio and Tough Monkey Records.

Jon composes in a great variety of different genres, from epic orchestral scores to dance music, from jazz to canto pop, from western classical to eastern and from children's music to experimental work. Though his creativity is versatile, his real forte leans towards dramatic orchestral film scores. His music is heavily influenced by a wide range of composers spanning from the 17th century to the present day.

As well as his excellent working knowledge of music/sound production on both Apple Mac and Windows, Jon also has in-depth and extensive knowledge of recording equipment, techniques, programming and associated technologies. He is equally well versed in composing/arranging for live instrumentalists - 'keeping it live' and in producing close renditions by utilising powerful software, precision editing and the highest quality audio samples. Jon frequently combines the two.

His research into the relationship between sound and emotions enables him to approach projects with sensitivity and awareness. The function of music and sound in all media is paramount to his work, from concept to realisation.

Jon's work has enabled him to travel abroad extensively, including Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Holland, France, Germany, Greece, Malaysia, Belgium, Austria and Italy as well as coast-to-coast in the United States.

INSTRUMENTAL TRACK ‘STONE COLD’

Manchester, United Kingdom - 19^th January 2013 – Manchester based music producer, Jon Brooks, teamed up with fellow Mancunian Clive Farrington (lead vocalist of ‘When In Rome’) to co-write and produce Tough Monkey Records’ latest release: ‘Stone Cold’ - a powerful yet emotive instrumental music track drawing influences from Robert Miles, Craig Armstrong and Mike Oldfield.

Jon Brooks is a British music composer specialising in Music Production for Film, Television, Artists and Advertising. He also runs his own recording studio based in South Manchester, UK.

Clive Farrington of ‘When in Rome’ fame had a No. 1 hit single in the USA called ‘The Promise’.  It was released in 1988.  In 2004, ‘The Promise’ was used as the end title theme for the successful movie, ‘Napoleon Dynamite’.

Jon and Clive also co-wrote and released Clive Farrington’s solo album, aptly named ‘Independence’ last year on 4^th July.

The new single ‘STONE COLD’ is being released on their own record label: TMR (Tough Monkey Records) via Kobalt Label Services / AWAL.  It will be available for digital download on iTunes and all other major digital distributors within the next couple of weeks.
