Britain's Got Talent - Beach Dancer

Britain's Got Talent - Beach Dancer. This happy chappy was dancing his jolly way down the beach in Bournemouth, UK. I wondered what music he might be listening to, so I added and synced my own quirky music to suit... Check out his moves!   :-)

Music producer, Jon Brooks, teamed up with Clive Farrington (lead vocalist - 'When In Rome') to co-write and produce Clive's first solo album 'Independence'.

Like many hunters for perfection, Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann have carried their craft through to today and indeed, they are still writing fresh, contemporary pop songs. Their hit single 'The Promise' is widely received as one of the best pop songs of the 80's. The song was featured in the hit movie Napoleon Dynamite in 2004 Andrew and Clive are still very much a song-writing partnership and joined forces with classically trained film composer, Jon Brooks.

Jon has a Master's degree in Composition for Film and Television and has worked as a professional composer since 2002. For six years he worked as an In-house Composer/Audio Consultant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, working on scores for films, television, radio, television commercials, musicals and animation series. He returned to the UK and set up his own recording studio which is based in South Manchester. His clients and credits include: Coca Cola, Cadburys, Disney, Malaysia Airlines, Mars, Pixar, Pepsi, Saatchi & Saatchi and Sony...

Jon plays mainly the Piano and French Horn. At 12, he won first prize in a piano competition where he appeared on stage alongside Richard Clayderman. He has performed at a variety of venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Kuala Lumpur's Twin Towers and at the Vatican, Rome. He also had the privilege of performing for the Queen during her Jubilee Tour.

Group influences are primarily Scott Walker, John Williams, Jaques Brel, Mahler, Righteous Brothers, Hans Zimmer, Dvořák, Francis Lai, Tchaikovsky, Coldplay, Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), John Barry, Bon Jovi and The Blue Nile.

‘Everything’ is a satisfying, self-assured debut single from the up and coming artist Lynsey Grace; featuring an evocative, epic and atmospheric pop ballad. Mancunian Singer/Songwriter Lynsey Grace teamed up with film composer Jon Brooks to produce her first emotive single. She’s creative, passionate and likes to express herself through songwriting. Lynsey Grace draws her inspiration from her life experiences, looking to connect with the listener. Jon Brooks specialises in Music Production for Film, Television, Artists and Advertising. Lynsey and Jon have been working together over the last year and intend to release some more of their material in the very near future.

ARTIST NOTES:
(Lynsey Grace) ‘Everything’ is a very personal song to me and one which I’m excited to release as my first track from my body of work. I’m extremely proud of the song as I poured a lot of emotion into the lyrics. I hope the listener will feel this and be able to relate to some of the lyrics themselves. Jon Brooks created the emotive and beautiful music which complements the lyrics and enhances the emotional response I was aiming to express. The track is soulful and raw, and there is no doubt this song was written from the heart. 'Everything' is a very special song to us both; it was the first track that really connected with Jon and I. It also confirmed we have a special creative bond and musical working relationship.

LYRICS:

Verse 1:
Only now I see
Only now I know the truth
Forbidden for so long to know the reason why
Heartfelt was my plea to take away the pain I felt inside
Trying for so long to understand the reason why

Pre-Chorus
I don’t know why everything is different
Every time I look at you I feel this pain
And I don’t understand why everything is different
Every time I look at you I feel this pain

Chorus:
Time to, to take a bow now
Show me this person
That you’ve become before me
I’m not willing or able
I walk away
I’m not willing to stay

Verse 2:
So sure I knew the way
So certain that I can’t deny
Of everything I knew
Of everything that once was mine
My heart has fell into an empty space I cannot see
Been trying for so long to understand the reason why

Pre-Chorus
I don’t know why everything is different
Every time I look at you I feel this pain
And I don’t understand why everything is different
Every time I look at you I feel this pain

Chorus: (x2)
Time to, to take a bow now
Show me this person
That you’ve become before me
I’m not willing or able
I walk away
I’m not willing to stay

No, no, not willing to stay…

(As cited on Wikipedia)
"Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. In China, it is known as "Spring Festival," the literal translation of the Chinese name 春節 (Pinyin: Chūnjié), since the spring season in Chinese calendar starts with lichun, the first solar term in a Chinese calendar year. It marks the end of the winter season, analogous to the Western Carnival. The festival begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: Zhēngyuè) in the traditional Chinese calendar and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day. Chinese New Year's Eve, a day where Chinese families gather for their annual reunion dinner, is known as Chúxī (除夕) or "Eve of the Passing Year." Because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is often referred to as the "Lunar New Year".

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Chinese New Year is celebrated in countries and territories with significant Chinese populations, such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, Vietnam, and also in Chinatowns elsewhere. Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the lunar new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors.

Within China, regional customs and traditions concerning the celebration of the Chinese new year vary widely. People will pour out their money to buy presents, decoration, material, food, and clothing. It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly cleanse the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of "good fortune" or "happiness", "wealth", and "longevity". On the Eve of Chinese New Year, supper is a feast with families. Food will include such items as pigs, ducks, chicken and sweet delicacies. The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition is to reconcile, forget all grudges and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.

Although the Chinese calendar traditionally does not use continuously numbered years, outside China its years are often numbered from the reign of the Yellow Emperor. But at least three different years numbered 1 are now used by various scholars, making the year beginning in 2012 CE the "Chinese Year" 4710, 4709, or 4649."
